  • Office building in the city center, constructed in CLT by the most predominant CLT producer in Finland

  • The new cultural centre, including the beautiful new meeting place, Oodi Central Library, designed by ALA Architects

  • Schools and learning environments: Finnish children achieve the highest scores in PISA tests in the world; guided tours from Finnish design studios

  • The world famous architecture of Alvar Aalto, from the university area, Otaniemi Campus to many others

  • Urban development and new infrastructure in two new city districts, including the new ferry terminal between Helsinki and Tallinn, used by many thousands of travellers on a daily basis  

  • Wood City: new urban quarter based on the vision of a sustainable, high-rise residential district, made solely from timber structures, as yet only partially realised

  • Youth housing – and experimental forms of housing
