A single project is likely to resonate through the management corridors of many companies. Google is going all-in on the green agenda as it develops the workplace of the future, Google Campus, where 7.000 employees will work. The London office will be Google’s largest workplace outside the United States.
A 300-metre-long roof garden is intended to boost interdisciplinary collaboration and move the well-being barometer in a positive direction. The concept has been developed by the landscape architecture studio Gillespies and includes areas for physical exercise, events and areas with wildflowers and large trees. Researchers have long told us that our heart rate drops when we spend time in nature. If you go out into green surroundings for just 20 minutes, it can be physically measured positively in the body afterwards. A new era is emerging within commercial construction, space planning and landscape. Google Campus London is under construction.
